Description
Flaky biscuits stuffed with roast beef and cheese, baked until golden, and served with warm au jus for dipping – a fun twist on the classic French dip sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuits
- 1/2 lb sliced deli roast beef
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 2 cups water (for au jus)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Separate biscuits and flatten each into a circle.
- Place a slice of roast beef and half a slice of provolone cheese in the center of each biscuit.
- Fold edges of biscuit dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a ball.
- Arrange seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
- Meanwhile, prepare au jus by whisking gravy mix with 2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer until slightly thickened.
- Serve biscuits warm with au jus for dipping.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add caramelized onions inside the biscuits before sealing.
- Works well with mozzarella or Swiss cheese as an alternative to provolone.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven for crispiness.
