Description

Flaky biscuits stuffed with roast beef and cheese, baked until golden, and served with warm au jus for dipping – a fun twist on the classic French dip sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1/2 lb sliced deli roast beef
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 2 cups water (for au jus)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Separate biscuits and flatten each into a circle.
  3. Place a slice of roast beef and half a slice of provolone cheese in the center of each biscuit.
  4. Fold edges of biscuit dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a ball.
  5. Arrange seam-side down in the baking dish.
  6. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, prepare au jus by whisking gravy mix with 2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer until slightly thickened.
  9. Serve biscuits warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add caramelized onions inside the biscuits before sealing.
  • Works well with mozzarella or Swiss cheese as an alternative to provolone.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven for crispiness.
