Description

Butterscotch Heaven Pie is a creamy, layered dessert dream featuring a buttery pecan crust, smooth cream cheese filling, rich butterscotch pudding, and fluffy whipped topping. Every bite is sweet, nutty, and melt-in-your-mouth — a true crowd-pleaser for holidays or any special occasion.

Ingredients

    • For the Crust:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

    • For the Cream Cheese Layer:
    • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (Cool Whip), divided

    • For the Butterscotch Layer:
    • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant butterscotch pudding mix
    • 3 cups cold milk

  • For Garnish:
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • Caramel drizzle (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, melted butter, and chopped pecans until crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping until well combined.
  5. Spread the cream cheese layer evenly over the cooled crust.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together butterscotch pudding mixes and cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Spread over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Top with the remaining whipped topping, spreading evenly.
  8. Garnish with chopped pecans and a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use homemade whipped cream if you prefer — just whip 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  • For a twist, replace the butterscotch pudding with chocolate or banana pudding.
  • To make ahead, assemble up to 24 hours in advance and chill until serving.
  • This pie keeps well refrigerated for up to 4 days — perfect for prepping ahead for gatherings.
