Description
A rich and creamy cheesecake topped with caramelized bananas for a decadent, tropical-inspired dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan to form a crust.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.
- Stir in sour cream and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly. Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add banana slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until bananas are golden and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
- Top the chilled cheesecake with caramelized bananas just before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a drizzle of caramel sauce before serving.
- Use firm, ripe bananas to prevent mushiness.
- Allow cheesecake to chill thoroughly for best texture.
