A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender seasoned steak bites served over fluffy rice and smothered in a rich, creamy melted cheese sauce. Perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
- Season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces and sear for 3–5 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet and toss to coat in the cheese sauce.
- Serve the cheesy steak mixture over warm rice and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use freshly grated cheese for the best melting and flavor.
- Ribeye adds extra richness, while sirloin is leaner.
- Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- For a spicy kick, include a pinch of chili flakes or hot sauce.
- This dish pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
