Description

Tender, juicy chicken smothered in a rich and creamy cheese sauce that’s packed with flavor. This comforting dish is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner and pairs well with rice, pasta, or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits.
  5. Add heavy cream and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine. Let it simmer gently.
  6. Stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the creamy cheese sauce over it. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest sauce.
  • Chicken thighs can be used for a juicier result.
  • Add mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of milk or broth.
  • Serve with pasta, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
