Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in hot water until batter is well combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. In a bowl, beat peanut butter and butter until creamy.
  9. Add powdered sugar and heavy cream, beating until smooth and fluffy.
  10. Frost one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides.
