Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits.
  6. Add heavy cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Parmesan cheese; stir until smooth.
  7. Simmer sauce for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
  9. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not boil the sauce to prevent curdling.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables.
  • Adjust lemon juice to taste for more or less tang.
