  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
  • Chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce
  • Chocolate shavings or chips (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate chips together until smooth.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until glossy.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 22–25 minutes until set but slightly fudgy in the center.
  9. Cool brownies slightly, then cut into squares.
  10. To assemble, place a warm brownie in a bowl, top with vanilla ice cream.
  11. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and add toppings as desired.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep brownies fudgy.
  • Serve brownies warm for best contrast with ice cream.
  • Add nuts or caramel sauce for variation.
