Description

Sweet and savory sliders made with tender chicken tossed in a maple glaze, layered with cheese and served on soft slider buns for an easy crowd-pleasing meal or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese, halved
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Toss shredded chicken in the maple glaze until evenly coated.
  4. Slice slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  5. Layer glazed chicken evenly over the buns, then top with cheese slices.
  6. Place top halves of the buns over the chicken and cheese.
  7. Brush melted butter over the tops and sprinkle with thyme or Italian seasoning.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is melted. Uncover and bake an additional 3-5 minutes to toast tops.
  9. Serve warm and pull apart to enjoy.
