Description
Easy and Quick Dubai Chocolate Croissants are buttery, flaky pastries filled with rich chocolate, inspired by Dubai’s café-style treats. Made using store-bought puff pastry, they’re simple to prepare yet indulgently delicious—perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought, thawed)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate bars (milk or dark)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, melted for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 4 equal rectangles or triangles.
- Place a few chocolate chips or a small piece of chocolate bar on the wide end of each piece.
- Roll the pastry tightly toward the pointed end to form croissant shapes.
- Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.
- Whisk the beaten egg with milk and brush the mixture over the croissants for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Optional: Brush with melted butter right after baking for extra shine and richness.
Notes
- Use good-quality dark or milk chocolate for a rich flavor.
- For a Dubai-inspired twist, add a pinch of cardamom or drizzle with date syrup after baking.
- Serve warm with Arabic coffee or karak chai for an authentic Middle Eastern café experience.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheated before serving.
