Description

Flat Ground Beef Enchiladas are easy, layered-style enchiladas made with seasoned ground beef, tortillas, enchilada sauce, and melted cheese—perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.


Ingredients

  • 500 g ground halal beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup red enchilada sauce
  • 6 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and sauté until softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  6. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Pour in half of the enchilada sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Lightly grease a baking dish and spread a thin layer of enchilada sauce on the bottom.
  9. Layer tortillas flat in the dish, top with beef mixture and cheese. Repeat layers.
  10. Finish with remaining enchilada sauce and cheese on top.
  11. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  12. Garnish with cilantro and serve warm.
