Description
Rich, fudgy brownies with a coffee-infused flavor, topped with a smooth, creamy coffee frosting—perfect for coffee lovers.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee (for frosting)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for frosting)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the brewed coffee and chocolate chips until well distributed.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar, brewed coffee, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the heavy cream and mix until fluffy.
- Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the coffee frosting evenly over the brownies.
- Let the frosting set for about 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, you can fold in chocolate chunks or add a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the frosting.
- If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, increase the amount of brewed coffee in both the brownie batter and frosting.
- These brownies are best enjoyed the day after baking as the flavors have time to meld.
- Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
