Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pie crust (9-inch)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate chips together until smooth.
  4. Whisk granulated sugar and brown sugar into the melted chocolate mixture.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Gently fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  8. Fold in nuts if using.
  9. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pie crust.
  10. Bake for 35–40 minutes until edges are set but center is still slightly gooey.
  11. Cool for 20 minutes before slicing.
