Description
A flavorful grilled chicken sandwich layered with creamy avocado, melted cheese, and fresh tomato slices, all pressed between golden, toasted bread for the ultimate melt experience.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 slices sourdough or ciabatta bread
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise or aioli
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Brush chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Grill chicken for 5–7 minutes per side or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest for a few minutes, then slice.
- Spread mayonnaise or aioli on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer one slice of bread (mayo side down) with cheese, sliced chicken, avocado, and tomato.
- Top with another slice of cheese and the second bread slice, mayo side up.
- Heat a skillet or panini press over medium heat. Add butter and toast the sandwich on both sides until golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
- Use pepper jack cheese for a spicier kick.
- Add crispy bacon for extra flavor and texture.
- To make it healthier, use whole-grain bread and light mayo.
- Avocado should be ripe but firm for best results.
