Description

Hot Honey Salmon is a sweet, spicy, and savory dish featuring tender, flaky salmon glazed with a homemade hot honey sauce. With a perfect balance of heat and sweetness, this quick and flavorful recipe is ideal for weeknight dinners or an elegant yet easy meal.

Ingredients

    • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • For the Hot Honey Glaze:
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Brush half of the hot honey glaze over the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork. For extra caramelization, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  7. Brush the remaining hot honey glaze over the cooked salmon before serving.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired and serve warm with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of hot sauce and red pepper flakes.
  • Air fryer method: cook at 390°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, brushing with glaze halfway through.
  • Pairs beautifully with garlic butter rice, quinoa, or mashed sweet potatoes.
  • Use leftover glaze as a drizzle for roasted veggies or shrimp.
