Mac and Cheese Meatloaf is a comforting, hearty dish that combines juicy seasoned meatloaf with a creamy macaroni and cheese center for a fun and satisfying family-style meal.
Ingredients
- 500 g ground halal beef
- 1 cup cooked macaroni pasta
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix cooked macaroni with milk and shredded cheddar cheese. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and half of the ketchup.
- Lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil.
- Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the loaf pan.
- Spoon the mac and cheese evenly over the meat layer.
- Cover with remaining meat mixture and gently press to seal.
- Spread remaining ketchup over the top.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until fully cooked.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use freshly cooked macaroni for best creaminess.
- Letting the meatloaf rest helps it hold its shape.
- You can add mozzarella for extra cheese pull.
