Description
A savory turkey and cranberry crescent ring is an easy holiday appetizer made with flaky crescent rolls wrapped around creamy cheese, tender turkey, and sweet-tart cranberry sauce, baked until golden and festive.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 1/2 cups cooked turkey (chopped or shredded)
- 3/4 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 6 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange crescent roll triangles in a circle on the baking sheet with wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, garlic powder, thyme, and black pepper until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the wide ends of the crescent dough.
- Top with turkey, cranberry sauce, and shredded cheese.
- Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck underneath to form a ring.
- Brush the dough with beaten egg.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use leftover Thanksgiving turkey for best flavor.
- Substitute chicken if turkey is unavailable.
