Description
Smashburger Quesadillas combine the juicy, crispy edges of a classic smashburger with melty cheese and tortillas, finished with a burger-style sauce for a fun, indulgent fusion meal.
Ingredients
- 450 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 200 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to create the burger sauce. Set aside.
- Season ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef to the skillet and smash it flat, cooking until browned and crispy on one side.
- Flip the beef, cook for another 1–2 minutes, then break into small pieces. Remove from heat.
- Wipe skillet clean and melt butter over medium heat.
- Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Add cooked beef, diced pickles, and onions evenly over the cheese.
- Drizzle with burger sauce, then top with another tortilla.
- Cook until the bottom tortilla is golden and crispy, then flip and cook the other side.
- Remove from skillet, slice into wedges, and serve hot.
Notes
- Use halal-certified beef to keep the recipe halal.
- Press tortillas gently when cooking for even crisping.
- Add jalapeños for a spicy version.
- Serve with extra sauce on the side.
