Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

  1. Warm milk until lukewarm and mix with yeast and granulated sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add egg, egg yolk, and melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.

  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter evenly.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over butter.
  8. Roll tightly and cut into 9–12 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden.
  11. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
