Description
A hearty, cheesy, and irresistibly comforting casserole made with ground beef, creamy sauce, and crunchy Doritos — the ultimate crowd-pleaser that’s equal parts indulgent and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained slightly)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp taco seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1 bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed
- Green onions or jalapeños, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onion is softened. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup, Rotel, sour cream, taco seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined and creamy.
- Add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture and stir until melted.
- Spread half of the crushed Doritos evenly on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Pour the beef mixture over the Doritos and spread evenly.
- Top with the remaining crushed Doritos and sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with sliced green onions or jalapeños before serving if desired.
Notes
- Substitute chicken for beef and cream of chicken soup for a Tex-Mex chicken version.
- Add black beans, corn, or bell peppers for more texture and flavor.
- Use Cool Ranch or Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos for a fun flavor twist.
- Leftovers reheat well — just cover and bake at 325°F for 15 minutes.
